New Orleans, Louisiana, USA
Designed by Trahan Architects, the new Center for Innovation serves as the headquarters for innovation Ochsner (iO), an innovation group Ochsner formed in 2015.
The project was recently awarded with a 2020 International Architecture Award and a 2020 American Architecture Award from The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies and The Chicago Athenaeum.
The Center will be a state-of-the-art collaboration space for Ochsner and its partners to develop, test, and implement innovative healthcare solutions with a focus on digital health, precision medicine, and advanced analytics to shape the future of healthcare.
In addition to iO staff workspaces, key components of the Center include a maker space, where new technologies can be created, a prototype lab, featuring a full-scale mock hospital room, a waiting room, and an exam room where new technologies can be tested.
The design also focuses on creating new flexible office spaces, collaboration spaces to promote organic tenant interactions, and a training center to host conferences and community events, including job trainings, business assistance programs, and educational seminars.
The estimated completion of the project is the end of 2021.
