Smeg releases a limited edition of 1000 pieces of the Piano Hob, originally released by Italian architect Renzo Piano in 1995.
The collection will include four and five burner hobs, coming in two widths, constructed entirely from polished stainless steel and coated in a unique plasma technology preventing the hob from tarnishing.
The burner pan stand also has no welding, making it a true object of Italian design detailing.
This launch sees Smeg embracing its Italian roots and taking a look through its product archive at previous designs, and it comes 35 years since the hob was first unveiled in Milan.
The hob comes in two sizes offering options for those with a sprawling kitchen with a dedicated island space, as well as an option for those with a smaller cooking station.
The P705ES features five striking burners with the central burner providing a 3.5kW rapid burner.
The hob is robust and hardy, made from EverShine stainless steel across its pan stands and burners.
