Designed by Pentagram and Yoto Limited, the Yoto Player is an audio platform that introduces children to a world of stories, music, educational activities, sound effects, podcasts and radio.
The aim was to design from the ground up for children, it is deliberately not a toy, but opens up a world of audio that fires children’s imaginations and relieves some of the anxiety that parents have about screen time. like and appeals to older kids and parents as well.
Founders Ben Drury and Filip Denker were inspired by Montessori principles to create a screen free audio device that kids could safely control themselves; giving children full control over their listening by giving children access to entertaining audio without removing the joy of using technology for fun, learning and imaginative play.
Not only does the new Yoto Player boast a handsome, inviting design, it also has added functionality including integrated battery, stereo sound, Bluetooth connectivity and three different play modes.
This is complemented by an ever-growing library of content featuring some of the very best children’s audio from authors such as Julia Donaldson, Roald Dahl and Judith Kerr plus a selection of music, podcasts, radio and more.
The Yoto Player is controlled using physical cards that are inserted into the Player which plays audio content.
Additionally, Yoto’s audio cards have the ability to play content through the app by simply tapping the card to the back of a compatible smartphone.
Parents have access to the Yoto smartphone app allowing control of settings and content management.
