Atsushi Tanaka product designer at Okamura Corporation has designed an electronically adjustable Regas Desktop to support any type of working posture thanks to its well-thought-out ergonomic properties and helps to provide optimal working conditions in the office environment.
The Regas Desktop has been awarded a 2021 Good Design Award by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies for its practical design.
Since the release of its rear tilting and standing posture support products in 2006 and 2015 respectively, Okamura Corporation continues to develop furniture that reduces physical stress and provides work comfort.
Through its “raise/lower and tilt” functions, the Regas Desktop provides optimal posture support regardless of physique, work content, or changes in mood from focused to relaxed.
The intuitive lever provides smooth electronic height adjustment.
An obstacle sensor has been incorporated that automatically stops operation and reverses the desktop by 30mm.
The desktop’s durable “Tilt” mechanism angles up to 15°.
The design encourages an upright body posture with eyes straight forward, reducing both neck and shoulder strain.
The tilting desktop is surrounded by a flat desktop for cups, pens, monitors and other necessary work utensils.
The desk can be screened off with felt panels made of recycled materials to ensure greater focus when working.
These panels also act to prevent COVID-19 transmission prevention through the spread of airborne droplets.
