Masimo Corporation’s Stork baby monitor tracks the baby’s health data so the parent can get to know the baby’s pulse rate, oxygen saturation, and skin temperature along with high-resolution video.
The Stork ecosystem comprises several components including a boot with a sensor, a high-resolution video camera, a hub, and a mobile app.
For its conceptual design, the Masimo Stork has been awarded a 2023 Good Design Award by The Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.
The 3-boot system, made from medical-grade silicone, conforms gently to the baby’s skin and is designed to grow with the baby, fitting babies up to 18 months old.
The boot contains meticulously engineered sensors that accurately and dependably track the baby’s oxygen saturation, pulse rate, and temperature.
Parents can rest assured knowing Stork uses the same sensor technology used by hospitals to monitor over 10 million babies annually.
The system also includes a 2K QHD-capable camera offering superior nighttime vision and crisp two-way audio.
With additional features to monitor room conditions like temperature, humidity, and noise levels, this holistic monitoring system ensures the comprehensive well-being of the baby.
Data from all components feed into the Stork app, which allows parents to track their baby’s health data and milestones, view summaries of averages and trends, and even share images directly.
The app connects to all other Stork parts via the Masimo secure cloud, allowing parents to watch over their baby anytime, from anywhere.
In partnership with >1000 parents, Stork was designed over multiple iterations to appeal to consumers and convey the brand’s promise via a modern yet warm aesthetic.
