With over eighty years of experience, the GROHE is reshaping the way how to interact with water with new manufacturing technologies.
By reducing the faucets to the bare minimum and essence of the design, the company saves resources and provide a new interactive experience with water.
For their environmental and eco-design considerations, two new GROHE and LIXIL products won recent 2021 Green Good Design® Awards from The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies and The Chicago Athenaeum.
LIXIL Global Design’s GROHE Blue Pure is the alternative solution for people who prefer the natural taste of still water.
Using the unique GROHE Blue filter technology, it turns ordinary tap water into fresh water, removing all of the substances that can impair its taste.
Finished in GROHE StarLight chrome, the tap has separate internal waterways – one for filtered water and the other for unfiltered water.
This means that people who prefer ambient, still water without any carbonation at all do not have to miss out on the great taste of water from a GROHE Blue water system.
With GROHE Blue Pure, you need zero bottles. This is not only refreshingly easy and convenient, but also helps the environment.
For GROHE Icon 3D collection, also designed by LIXIL Global Design, metal-printed faucets are a reinterpretation of the existing collections Allure Brilliant and Atrio while exploring and pushing the limits of 3D metal-printing.
The result is a blend of cutting-edge technology and craftsmanship and demonstrating how 3D metal-printing can influence the next generation of design.
3D-printed faucets are so light it makes you wonder how they can possibly work.
So how did the vision of a 3D-printed faucet become reality?
GROHE has reinterpreted the Atrio and Allure Brilliant lines by incorporating Icon 3D design, thereby taking product design and the joy of water to a whole new level.
“Every innovation always starts with a bold vision. Rethinking what is possible is only a question of perspective for us,” emphasizes Europe 40 Under 40 Laureate Paul Flowers, Leader LIXIL Global Design.
“With GROHE Icon 3D, we are entering the future of product design as we are now able to create designs that at first appear impossible.”
“By embracing the still-emerging technology of 3D metal-printing, we are pushing the boundaries of design and we are truly shaping the future of water.”
The ultra-thin walls of the GROHE Atrio Icon 3D and the hollow interior in the familiar silhouette of GROHE Allure Brilliant make the water flow look like a magical, optical illusion.
Thus, the faucets of the two lines become an aesthetic highlight, available in a brushed raw steel finish.
Reducing a design to an absolute minimum and emphasizing the pure essence of shapes not only saves valuable resources, but also offers a new experience of water.
The ultra-thin spout of GROHE Atrio Icon 3D and the hollow interior of GROHE Allure Brilliant Icon 3D with its familiar silhouette make the water flow seem like a magical, optical illusion and make the 3D-printed faucets with a brushed steel finish aesthetic highlights in any bathroom.
