Global Design News and The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design announce the results of the 2024 Future House® International Residential Awards that celebrate the intersection of residential design and architectural vision.
The annual competition is a global program designed to find the latest innovation and global direction in new residential architecture from single-family luxury and vacation homes, multi-family housing, new residential sky towers, restoration/preservation, and social and sustainable residential design.
The program aims to promote and recognize innovative projects that have a significant impact on the future of residential architecture worldwide.
From this year’s short-list of 200 outstanding projects, 70 awards were given to new distinguished designs in Europe, Asia, Australia, North and South America.

This year’s awards were selected by a jury and based on criteria that highlights the pushing of the envelope for the most innovative design.

The 2024 Future House winners are featured in an upcoming book entitled Future House: Modern Living and Dynamic Functionality by Metropolitan Arts Press and edited by Christian Narkiewicz-Laine.
The book documents new and radical design ideas that are shaping tomorrow’s domestic landscape from stealth-tech, eco-friendly homes to new energy-efficient residential high-rise towers.
On Friday, October 11, Global Design News and The Chicago Athenaeum opens the exhibition “Future House 2024” at the European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies in Athens, Greece. The exhibition continues until November 10.
