Debonademeo Studio signs the “Due Sicilie” collection of vases and side tables for the new Chroma® Objects series, a brand new line of limited edition objects and furnishings made with Chroma® material and interpreted by 12 designers.
For the “Due Sicilie” collection, Debonademeo Studio drew inspiration from the ancestral decorative motifs that cover the floors, walls, architectural elements, and textile surfaces of churches, palaces, squares, and terraces in southern Italy.
A reinterpreted iconographic alphabet, created in the form of objects and furnishing accessories.
Mediterranean shapes and colors blend with the material, giving vitality to pieces characterized by essential forms designed to adapt to all domestic environments and beyond.
A collection that, through the enhancement of surfaces, evokes the historical and artistic heritage of the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies, offering a range of different elements, bearers of ancient stories to be rearranged and recomposed at will.
Geometric fragments of travertine in various shapes and sizes are inserted into the Chroma® material like precious inlays, creating evocative yet extremely light and harmonious patterns.
The manufacturing process derives from a combination of resins and stone aggregates that behave like submerged fossils during production, re-emerging at the end of the process and evolving the concept of decoration.
Chroma® is a new material, created from the fusion of composite materials and fragments of recycled materials with high aesthetic and symbolic value. Through the exclusive Mersus process, composite matrices are fused with fragments of metal, wood, marble, or precious stones to create vases and tables in different shapes and colors, each one unique and original with an unprecedented and unrepeatable aesthetic.
About: Debonademeo Studio: Luca De Bona and Dario De Meo founded the Debonademeo Studio 15 years ago, based in Padua and Milan. A dual perspective marked by innovation and tradition that characterizes projects aimed at overcoming the form-function dualism to enrich the contemporary habitat with expressive value.
A micro- and macro-scale research that rereads and merges various fields: architecture, design, graphics and art to create contexts and design products capable of telling stories and inducing emotions. Declaring the hic et nunc (here and now) as their own methodological manifesto, they connect different signals from the past and present to translate them into creative strategies in an innovative approach to the fields of brand identity, art direction, and product design.
A pair that complements each other in their skills and approach to the project.
Debonademeo Studio is art director of Adrenalina Bottega Vazzoler and Oikos Kitchens and collaborate as designers with Chroma Composites, Medulum, Karman, Wall&Deco, De Castelli, Pulkra, Incalmi, Zava, Vistosi and other Italian and foreign design brands.
Chroma Composites
With deep roots in the Sannio area and a gaze firmly fixed on the future, Chroma was created to transform materials into a conscious, ethical, and circular design process. Founded in Benevento in 2007, after extensive experience in the mineral agglomerate surface sector, the company draws on the region’s history of opus incertum, spontaneous and composite construction, to translate it into a new production vision.
Through the exclusive Mersus® process, heterogeneous fragments and forgotten materials are fused into a dense, living, and regenerable material capable of giving shape to objects, furnishings, and architecture.
Each composition is an act of transformation, in which what remains becomes a resource.
In over fifteen years of research, Chroma has built an original material language, articulating its activity in three directions: an exclusive collection of ready-to-use materials, a custom design division for architecture, and a new line of design objects, Chroma Objects.
