Fremont, California, USA
Designed by STUDIOS Architecture for the City of Fremont, the Fremont Downtown Event Center is a multi-phased master plan for the City’s new Civic Center campus at the heart of the growing city’s Downtown District, that creates a vibrant, mixed-use district that caters to both residents and visitors
Fremont Downtown Event Center has been awarded a 2023 American Architecture Award by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.
Warm terracotta and textured metal panels act as a scrim to the event spaces within.
The main lobby space is a glassy lantern with a paneled wood wall facing the plaza.
The lobby acts as a warm and welcoming entry pavilion and celebratory pre-function space for the overall venue.
The project is home to community events such as weddings, anniversary parties, and adult education classes.
The elegant and modern facility is equally tuned for hosting business and economic development functions such as networking events, conferences, press releases, and non-profit board meetings.
In the plaza, the City hosts concerts, cultural events, and a weekly food truck Street Eats celebration.
Each room can accommodate outdoor break-out space in the plaza as a part of the event rental.
This all-electric facility includes a significant photo voltaic array, ultra-efficiency fixtures and equipment, and a high-performance envelope with significant daylighting throughout.
The Downtown Event Center is a warm and welcoming pavilion that is home to community events such as weddings, anniversary parties, and adult-ed classes.
