Safety, security, and environmental performance were also integral to the design.
The garage’s composition establishes a cohesive relationship with the terminal, and features like vehicular speed ramps and pedestrian walkways enhance safety and pedestrian focus.
Artwork, vegetation trellises, and elements of nature enliven the passenger journey.
The garage and terminal boast the largest One Percent for Art Initiative in Kansas City’s history, further elevating the overall experience for visitors.
The Kansas City International Airport Parking Garage was designed with a focus on efficiency, accessibility, and sustainability.
Featuring an intuitive layout, the garage streamlines the parking experience with smart technology, wayfinding systems, and electric vehicle charging stations.
A skybridge seamlessly connects the parking structure to the main terminal, ensuring a smooth and convenient transition for travelers.
Additionally, the garage incorporates energy-efficient LED lighting and stormwater management systems, demonstrating BNIM’s commitment to sustainable design.
Beyond its functional benefits, the parking garage enhances the aesthetic appeal of the airport campus.
