Chengdu, China
“The park is an ideal integration of the city and its people with landscape and businesses while creating an urban oasis that is functional and open. The concept behind creating this landmark that realizes a new way of socializing is one that is fitting to Chengdu’s constantly evolving and dynamic appeal.” – Aedas Global Design Principal, Dr. Andy Wen.
Andy Wen and Dongwei Wang of Aedas join forces with the landscape architects at ASPECT studios and BPI Lighting Design and together establish a vibrant and fun youth, music, and life-orientated linear space, linking the local transportation hub with the university community and campus in Chengdu.
Chengdu Hyperlane has recently been awarded a 2022 International Architecture Award by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.
The overall planning and design intend to create high standards and high-quality design 60 percent of the commercial products are self-sustaining, adhere to the long-term business philosophy, provides professional support, and realize long-term commercial value.
Hyperlane is invested, built, and operated by the core team that once operated the Chengdu Taikoo Li project.
The site of the project is located on Xueyuan lu East, adjacent to Sichuan Music College in Chengdu, China.
The immense street façade and relatively shallow depth allow the project to naturally blend into the urban context.

Based on the concept of “Hyperlane,” connecting people and the city, the project will become a bridge of social contact as well as a flexible urban public space that reacts to people’s daily activities.
The creative space can be transformed to skate parks, interactive art installations, or performance space that appeals to people of all ages to enrich the public green corridor.
The Hyperlane Park features also an amphitheater that is accessible to everyone in the city.
Based on a variety of themes and flexibility of public space, the district becomes an activated, 24-hour street and an integrated growing-type urban organism, which complements existing urban functions.
