Bergstein takes its name from German: Berg means mountain, Stein means stone. A name that perfectly encapsulates the spirit of this collection — a solid, natural, and time less material reinterpreted through ceramic innovation. Inspired by Jura stone, native to southern Germany, Bergstein reimagines and translates it into the language of con temporary ceramics. A meticulous and precise graphic design captures the serenity and mineral nuances of this stone, long admired in European architecture for its understated texture and its natural ability to reflect light. The result is a balanced, enveloping, and versatile surface that combines the tactile character of stone with the precision and performance of ceramics.

Every graphic detail has been crafted with special care: the veins, chromatic nuances, and natural variations are interpreted through a subtle language designed to pre serve the mineral essence while maintaining visual cla rity. For decades, Jura stone has been a benchmark in mo dern architecture across central and northern Europe. Its neutral tones, controlled porosity, and restrained elegan ce have made it a symbol of serene and functional aes thetics. Bergstein embraces this legacy and renews it through ce ramic technology, transforming a geological material into a contemporary surface capable of meeting the demands of modern architecture.
More than just a collection, Bergstein is conceived as a comprehensive ceramic system, capable of offering co herent solutions for both interior and exterior spaces. Its technical and formal structure allows the entire architec tural project to be approached from a single material iden tity. In its large-format version, the ceramic slab, Bergstein makes it possible to create broad, continuous surfaces with an almost monolithic presence. The large pieces bring visual lightness and a sense of seamless continuity — ideal for contemporary interiors where each plane see ks to merge effortlessly with the next. The collection also extends across a wide range of formats, expanding design possibilities for residential and commer cial flooring. Its matte finish and balanced texture ensure durability, dimensional stability, and easy maintenance, while preserving the natural elegance and chromatic har mony that define the series.

The system is completed with the rectified white-body wall tile and its Filo version, which incorporates a delicate linear relief. This subtle detail introduces movement and depth to vertical surfaces, creating a refined play of light and sha dow that enriches spaces without losing their understated elegance. The collection is further expanded with technical versions that broaden its architectural possibilities: Bergstein Max, designed for projects that demand greater structural strength—such as façades—thanks to its 14 mm thickness, and Bergstein Extrem, developed for outdoor environments and dry installation, featuring a 20 mm thickness. Both ver sions deliver advanced performance while preserving the natural, balanced aesthetic that defines the series. Across all its variations, Bergstein maintains a consistent visual identity: mineral serenity, purity of form, and mate rial continuity that unites interior and exterior, technique and design, within a single architectural language.
