Fiberon Concordia premium PE composite decking combines the look and strength of real wood with the long-lasting resilience of recycled plastic to stand the test of time. The newest addition to the Concordia portfolio, the Astir Collection features a rustic cathedral grain and three fresh, nature-inspired multi-tonal hues: Prairie Wheat, a light tan reminiscent of lush fields of grain, Mountain Ash, a rich, deep brown inspired by mountain forests, and Seaside Mist, a modern grey with hints of a warm, sandy undertone.
Concordia composite decking is made with 94% recycled material that would otherwise likely be destined for landfills, incinerators, or oceans. About half of what’s in the decking boards comes from recycled wood—sawdust and leftover material that would otherwise be discarded. This saves more than 1 million trees, or 20,000 acres of healthy forest, from being cut down every year. The other half comes from recycled plastic, including grocery bags and recycled packaging material. If not recycled, plastic bags likely end up in landfills or the ocean, where they could remain for up to 1,000 years, but it’s this same resistance to decomposing that helps make Concordia composite decking last such a long time. As many as 2,000 plastic bags can be used in the manufacturing of a single board, averaging 100 million pounds of recycled plastic each year.

These woods and plastics are recycled at an in-house facility that converts the waste into the materials needed to make the deck boards. This facility prevents more than 70,000 tons of waste from reaching landfills and incinerators annually. In fact, Fiberon is one of the largest recyclers of polyethylene in the United States. Additionally, every Fiberon plant has a water reservoir about the size of a standard swimming pool to collect and reuse water during the manufacturing process. This closed-loop water system saves nearly 3.5 billion gallons of water annually.

Recycled plastic gives Concordia a durable composite core makes the decking resistant to splintering, rotting, cracking, insects and decay. A four-sided PermaTech cap layer provides superior protection and fade resistance, ensuring that the boards look beautiful year after year. In addition, the boards clean easily with soap and water or a mild cleaner and never need sanding, staining, or painting, thus reducing the emissions of harmful volatile organic compounds. Concordia decking is backed by a lifetime performance warranty and a 50-year stain and fade warranty.
